Chancellor State College - Uniform Policy as of 2004

Chancellor State College P&C Association endorses this uniform policy annually.  Any changes to the policy will be ratified through a formal P&C process.

The P&C Uniform Sub-Committee meets on a regular basis. Everyone is welcome at these meetings and participation on the committee is encouraged.  Meeting times are advertised in the newsletter or see the uniform convener.

 DRESS STANDARD

At Chancellor, students are encouraged to take pride in themselves and in their school.  Adherence to the school’s dress standards promotes a feeling of pride in and ownership of our school.  Compliance with this uniform policy is an important factor in ensuring student safety given the complexity of the Chancellor education precinct with shared school facilities and greater than usual student movement across campuses.  We seek your support in this matter.

Inappropriate dress is defined as clothing or apparel that is, or could be deemed to be:

  • offensive

  • likely to disrupt, or negatively influence, the normal operation of the school

  • unsafe for student or others;

  • likely to result in a risk to the health of the student or others.

Make up and nail polish are not to be worn to school.

Visible tattoos and visible body piercing (except for earlobes as mentioned below) is not permissible.

JEWELLERY

Students may wear a watch, chain with religious symbol around their neck so long as the chain is safety pinned to the inside of the shirt to avoid danger or damage to the student and/or school equipment.  2 pierced holes per earlobe with either simple stud earrings or sleeper earrings.  All other jewellery is considered a danger to the students’ safety. Medical bracelets are exempt.
