Things We Do in Year 1

Buddies
Each Year One class at Chancellor adopts a Buddy Class from the upper school. The buddy classes have at least half and hour a week together where they partake in activities such as art and craft or activities that relate directly to our Units of Excellence. Buddy Classes are an important aspect of the first year of schooling for the year one students. It is a system that fosters a caring and trusting environment for all the students involved.
Supporting Learning Differences in Students
At Chancellor, we understand that each child is unique, that they vary in their abilities, interests and learning styles. For children who struggle with their learning, we are able to supplement their learning and development and offer them support that will give them the best opportunities in the classroom. We recognise the needs of children who are gifted and aim to give these students opportunities to advance as far as possible.
